There are many ways I have failed at writing this first book. Those failures, however, have clarified what the book requires.

Everyone writes differently. Process must adapt to material. This is less advice than self-discipline: a way to identify what works, what doesn’t, and begin again.

Writing Too Soon

We’re taught to seize motivation when it appears, to fear its disappearance. We rush to preserve ideas before they change. But the change is the point.
